FBS-Systems develops further battery storage project to strengthen security of supply in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern
With the development of a further battery storage facility in Röbel/Müritz, FBS-Systems GmbH is sending out a clear signal for a stable and responsibly designed energy supply. The project is aimed at increasing the security of the electricity system and reliably meeting the growing demands of an increasingly renewable energy system.
The planned battery storage system with a connected load of 10 MW and a storage capacity of 20 MWh will provide the local electricity grid with additional flexibility. It can provide or absorb energy at short notice, helping to balance out fluctuations in the grid and cushion critical situations.
“A secure power supply is the basis for the economy, society and public services,” emphasizes Fabian Fink, COO at FBS-Systems. “Battery storage systems are taking on a growing systemic responsibility. They ensure that renewable energies can be used reliably, even when generation and consumption do not coincide.”
FBS-Systems sees battery storage systems as an active component of the electricity system of the future. As early as the project development stage, great importance is attached to close coordination with local authorities and owners in order to optimally integrate the system into the existing infrastructure. The aim is not only to create additional capacity, but also to support the stability of the overall system in the long term.
With the further expansion of renewable energies, the importance of fast-reacting, controllable infrastructure components is increasing. Battery storage systems make a decisive contribution here by being able to stabilize grid frequency and load flows and thus also relieve conventional reserve capacities.
